This is the proposed reconstruction of the painting as it appeared at the Salon of 1864. Outlined in green are the images beleived to be a part of the painting. As you can see the matador area was totally reworked. The bullfighters and the wall are much largr and closer to us. A larger bull was added between the bullfighters and the dead toreador.
