She studied at the art academy in Austria where she won a prize and then moved onto to study in Munich. In 1884 she married British artist Adrian Stokes. Together they traveled throughout Europe and appointed.Late in the 1890's she steadily moved towards religious subjects. In 1910 she published an illustrated book jointly with her husband. Prints of her works were published in Munich, London, and New York. In 1923, she was elected Associate of the RWS. |
